The Problem Is Bigger
Than Most People Realise.

That's not a knowledge problem. It's a purpose, understanding, and skills problem — and it requires a completely different approach.

The Sophicly Method

A Different Approach.

Skills-based learning

This Isn't Normal Tutoring.

We don't just teach content — we develop critical thinkers and independent learners with skills that last far beyond GCSE.

Traditional TutoringContent Focus
Memorise quotes
Learn plot summaries
Copy model answers
Necessary but not enough on its own
Sophicly DevelopsWriting and Communication

Write like an author — generate compelling ideas, choose plot structures, create characters with purpose

Structure arguments that are clear, compelling, and evidence-based

Draft, get specific feedback, and redraft in the same cycle

Traditional TutoringPassive Learning
Read the text
Answer comprehension Qs
Wait for the teacher to explain
Familiar but doesn't build thinking skills
Sophicly DevelopsCritical Thinking

Analyse texts like a scholar — develop interpretations that examiners reward.

Build analytical frameworks that work across any unseen text or question

Think independently — evaluate, compare, and form original arguments.

Traditional TutoringGeneral Support
"Good work, try harder"
Follow the revision guide
Hope it clicks eventually
Well-meaning but no system for improvement
Sophicly DevelopsLearning Skills

Metacognition — students learn how their own brain actually learns.

Data-driven: we follow the evidence, not emotion. Every decision is based on what the research shows

A systematic process of skills-building that creates independent learners

Not exam tricks. Not memorised answers. Actual skills that transfer far beyond GCSE built on the science of learning.

I stuck to the plan and didn't let my predicted results change my process. I improved four grades — from a 5 to a Grade 9 in Literature and an 8 in Language. Everything went exactly how you said it would.

I saw a massive improvement not only in my attitude towards learning but my grades as well. I studied in a way that has never been taught to me in school and it has shaped who I am today.

I was hoping for a Grade 6. I got Grade 9s in both English Literature and English Language — and 40 out of 40 on my Question 5. I still can't believe it.

I started off with very bad grades in English and failing but recently scored an 8. The effort Abdullah puts into this program shows his passion — constantly improving and making special courses for us.

I was one mark off a Grade 9 in English Lit and three marks off an 8 in Language. That's a four-grade jump in Literature alone.

Taha got his results — a Grade 9 in English. Thank you for all your efforts. We are so grateful for everything.

My daughter started at the beginning of Year 11 and I was worried about her. Just one year later she got all 8s — science, maths, English, Language. She absolutely smashed it. I will recommend to everyone.

I got my results and I got a Grade 9. That's a four-grade improvement. May Allah reward you abundantly for all your help.

Samuel achieved a Grade 9 in Literature and an 8 in Language — up from a Grade 6. The support made such a difference. Please make dua for him.

His teachers predicted him a Grade 6. He got a 9 in English Language and an 8 in English Literature. Thank you for the brilliant tutoring and support.

I am certain that Sophicly is the most advanced English course out there. You taught me skills I'd never have learned elsewhere. From a Grade 4 to 8 and 8 — one mark off a 9.

I got a 6 in Language and an 8 in Literature — up from Grade 3 and 4. I was only six marks away from a 9 in Lit. Your support made such a big difference.

She achieved a Grade 9 in Literature and 7 in Language. Your generosity and efforts have been absolutely excellent. We appreciate all your work.

She nailed English Literature in her mocks and we needed Language up too. Final results: Grade 9 in both. Your help was greatly appreciated.

I got two 7s in both English's. This was a very pleasant surprise especially given the fact I was on a 3 and a 4 this time last year.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can't find what you're looking for? Get in touch and we'll help.

  • We recommend every student starts with a free demo session. During the demo, your child receives a full assessment with a predicted grade and clear guidance on what they need to improve. The session doubles as a free introductory lesson where we show students exactly what it takes to score a grade 9.

From there, you'll understand how our program works, what the different tiers offer, and you can make a much more informed decision about which package is the right fit.

  • Absolutely. You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time from your dashboard. Changes take effect at the start of your next billing cycle.

  • You're free to cancel at any time — we don't lock anyone in. That said, we always recommend giving it at least three months. Mastery-based learning isn't time-bound; it's destination-based. Some students grasp concepts quickly, others take longer, and that's completely normal.

The more a student fine-tunes their intention and effort, the faster they'll improve. We measure progress through our own rigorous internal assessments — not school mocks or teacher opinions, which can vary wildly. We mark strictly and trust our process.

  • We offer two options: a monthly subscription that you can cancel anytime, or a fixed-term payment plan if you'd prefer to commit to a set period (e.g. three months). We'll discuss what works best for your family during the demo.

  • You can update your email address directly from your student dashboard under account settings. Changes take effect immediately.

  • Gold students have at least three live tutorial sessions per week, plus their own private support channel with our team. Platinum students get everything in Gold, plus an additional weekly writing session and a one-to-one assessment review every month.

  • Yes — Gold and Platinum packages include live tutorial sessions each week. We also have a growing library of recorded tutorials that students can revisit at any time.

  • Yes. The first child is charged at the standard rate (£140/mo for Gold), and the second child receives a £30 discount (£110/mo). If one sibling leaves, the remaining student moves to the standard price.
