Leave Taking explores the fractured relationship between Enid, a Jamaican immigrant hospital cleaner, and her two British-born daughters Del and Viv, as they navigate the gap between her Caribbean heritage and their identity as young Black British women—revealing how migration, racism, and displacement create invisible wounds and generational disconnection, while ultimately suggesting the possibility of understanding and reconciliation.
